I was delighted to be approached by CNCF to judge this competition, and am indebted to my fellow judges, Daniel Tsang and Victoria Choux, both exceptional professional musicians and performers, who so graciously accepted my request to assist me, and gave up a great deal of their time to carefully assess each and every entry.
We were overwhelmed by the quantity and quality of entries to this competition, and found choosing only 2 winners immensely difficult in some of the categories. We hope that the individual feedback, which
I have now delivered to every entrant, is helpful and inspiring. It has been our pleasure to watch and listen to all the talent shared with us and I very much look forward to coaching the winners and runners up of each category.

STAR SEARCH HONG KONG is a virtual singing competition, organised by the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation (CNCF) and hosted by Karen Linker of KarenLinkerMusic. It is open to all amateur singers, who are over 5 years old and residents of Hong Kong. This competition will promote music in the community, showcase our local talent and support CNCF’s charitable work helping abused and exploited children in Vietnam and Mongolia.
The Competition has the following categories:

Family All Stars – All ages!
Category winners and Runners up of individual categories will receive vouchers for professional vocal coaching sessions with Karen Linker (total value of all vouchers in excess of HK$11,000). The winner of the Junior Category will also receive a set of JBL 500BT Bluetooth Wireless Headphones. The winners of both the Teens and Adult Categories will also receive a JBL Flip 5 Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker. The winner of the Family All-Stars will receive a One night stay for 2 people at the Kerry Hotel, Hong Kong.

Entrants will need to provide details of their HKID card or Passport at the time of donation, to validate their competition entry and be assigned to the appropriate category. Click here to complete the Registration form.
Entry to the competition will be via submission of a performance video not exceeding 4 minutes, to Karen Linker at Karenlinkervocalist@outlook.com and submissions must be in accordance with the terms and conditions stated below. Due to the size of the files being transferred, please use the free service “WeTransfer” to send your videos to Karen Linker, if they exceed 20MB.
The 3 individual categories will be judged by our panel of professional judges, Karen Linker, Victoria Choux and Daniel Tsang, whilst our fun Family All-Stars category will be judged by the CNCF children from the Ger village in Mongolia!

MEET YOUR JUDGES!
KAREN LINKER
Karen Linker is a professional vocalist with decades of experience as an international performer (Hong Kong/Macau/London/Las Vegas/Melbourne/Europe) and vast experience as a private vocal coach. Karen sings at private events worldwide and has performed and recorded with celebrity artists both in the US and London. Karen also writes and publishes her own material on Spotify and other digital music platforms.
Karen is much sought after as a vocal coach and has an extensive client portfolio which includes not only young amateur singers but also professional vocalists and record label signed recording artists. Her teaching style and programme are unique and produce incredible results in an engaging environment.
Karen is a full, accredited member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (U.S.) recognised in their Teachers Directory, and a member of The Association of Teachers of Singing (UK).
Karen has generously agreed to donate over HKS11,000 of personal vocal tuition, to support this competition.
VICTORIA CHOUX
Victoria Choux is a former member of the Pan-Asian girl group Blush and toured North America, Europe and Asia, after Blush hit the Number 1 spot on the US Billboard Dance/Club Play Charts. As a leading member of Blush, Victoria has had vast performance experience, including opening for several celebrity artists (Justin Bieber, Black Eyed Peas to name but a few). Multi talented, Victoria has also modelled and presented for Fox Sports Asia, and now divides her time and solo career work between Hong Kong and Malaysia, regularly sharing a stage with Karen Linker for joint performances at private events. Victoria also engages Karen as her vocal coach, for additional preparation prior to major performances.
DANIEL TSANG
Daniel Tsang is one of Hong Kong's finest musicians and has performed and taught piano and vocal, practical and theory of music, for over 20 years in both Canada and Hong Kong. He is an experienced and versatile performer of Classical, Jazz, Gospel and Popular music and also an accomplished composer and conductor. Piano is Daniel's first instrument, but he plays several other instruments and furthermore holds a Diploma in Vocal Performance (achieving the highest mark of his examination intake in Ontario). He has taught and conducted choirs throughout Asia and Canada.
